Humans of Khmer America

Mimi Mather

“When I joined the Cambodian Student Association (CamSA) at UConn, I had no idea that I’d find a sense of family in this tight knit group of students. Being a part of the club became a foundation for me to explore my cultural identity and define myself as an Asian-American. I decided to run for president because I felt like it was my time to give back to the group and provide an even better experience for current and future members.

There’s a lot of things I’d like to accomplish during the rest of my time here, all of which involves setting a precedent for doing bigger and better things each year. I hope that when I graduate I’ll leave the inspiration for future leaders to reach for higher goals each and every semester.”
