“Being born and raised in Long Beach, California, it was a struggle for me coming out as a gay Cambodian American. I’ve isolated myself and gone through bullying and being picked on throughout my entire childhood in school. I’ve thought about suicide many times in my lifetime because I felt so alone and uncomfortable with who I was. It wasn’t until I came out to my family when I was 21 and my family couldn’t have been more supportive. I now work for a great non-profit organization where we teach kids to be leaders and to be whomever they chose to be in life.”
