“Recently, I took my mother to Metta, a health center serving Southeast Asian refugees in the Lowell area. She never knew how her experience with genocide affected my upbringing while growing up as a second generation Cambodian American. She never understood what inherited trauma meant. In the future, I want to be an educator about healing and end stigmatization in mental health.”
